Chlorella, why only a "superfood"?
Chlorella is one of the most researched microalgae, its biochemical properties have been explored in areas such as waste water treatment, biofuel, nutraceuticals and cosmetics.
Known as a "superfood" in North American, oftentimes used as supplements to drinks for providing added nutritional value to one's diet.
We,at Lumenalgae, are committed to expand the application spectrum of Chlorella to disrupt conventional belief that Chlorella is only a "superfood".
Chlorella has also been proven in water remediation and water quality improvement in aquaculture in providing a suitable environment for fish and shrimp growth.
Our mission
Concern about food quality and eventual scarcity has been raised as quality of life improved significantly for the overall world population. Alternative sustainable and high quality food source must be envisaged in order to fulfill the demands of population growth in the next decades.
Indeed, presence of various health benefiting chemical and biochemical groups found in microalgae has earned its title to be an excellent food source. However, challenges in growing high quality and superior value microalgae, commercializing microalgae-based products, understanding microalgae clinically proven medicinal values as well as extending microalgae-based applications such as aquaculture still remain. In order to efficiently utilize this valuable food source, it is essential to address these hurdles and establish and promote R&D in support to ensure higher quality, valuable and nutritious microalgae-based food production output as an alternative solution.
